Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

In the last class session, me and my groupmates were assigned to do a presentation video about "Belief in Allah". As Muslims, it may sound cliché to us because the sentence itself already means everything. The purpose of our life is to believe in Allah as He is the Almighty, Creator, and Sustainer of this universe. Belief in al-tawhid is the fundamental belief in Islam, which helps Muslims think of Allah as the centre point of life. Putting Allah first in our lives saves us from suffering in the panic of nothingness and from living in tension and restlessness.I personally think that those who trust Allah never lose hope and easily give up. I realised that as Muslims, we don’t need to question why we need to believe in Him because all of the evidence of His existence is clearly shown around us. The sun, the moon, and the sea. All of them were created by Allah.

However, as great believers, it is not enough for us to just say without proving anything. As the term goes, action speaks louder than words. Personally, I think performing solat or other ibadah is the only way for us to stay on the right path. Other than that, doing some good deeds also helps to improve our belief in Allah. And I would like to share something that may be related to doing deeds. There is a powerful hadith where Rasullah SAW said, "Do good deeds properly, sincerely, and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant, even if it were little." This hadith means Allah SWT never demands perfection in doing something that can improve our belief in Him, but He always rewards the effort. And, Ma Sha Allah, when Allah SWT rewards, he does so generously.I believe for some of us, it is not easy to do good deeds because the Dunia may distract us with all of the maksiats. Whenever we feel distracted by those things, each of us needs to remember our purpose for living in this Dunia.

I also learnt something through this topic that helps me reflect on myself. In this life, Allah blessed us with a very special and divine manual, the blessed Al-Quran, and he also blessed us with the best role model to follow, Rasullah SAW.Following the Quran and Sunnah is the "cheat code" to improve our belief towards Him. They also help us live a peaceful, full, and wholesome life. Following others, such as ego and greed, will only lead us to frustration and despair because we are trying to fix and fill our sacred hearts and souls with things that simply do not fit. It is like you were trying to fix what was meant for the left side of the chair on the right side of the chair, and vice versa.Trust me, it would not be fixed. And if we stop believing in Allah and following His commands, we will end up broken and wonky.

Last but not least, I pray that we may stay focused on our purpose and keep Al-Quran and Sunnah close to us, so that with His help, we can build a masterpiece not just in this world, but also in the Hereafter.

Love and prayers always,

Sarah💓
